Size guide
Two minutes with a ruler now saves an exchange later. Here is how to find your size for rings, bracelets and necklaces.
Ring sizes
Our rings use US sizing. Match the inside diameter of a ring you already own, or the circumference of your finger, to the chart below.
| US size | Inside diameter | Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| US 5 | 15.7 mm | 49.3 mm |
| US 6 | 16.5 mm | 51.9 mm |
| US 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| US 8 | 18.2 mm | 57.0 mm |
| US 9 | 19.0 mm | 59.5 mm |
| US 10 | 19.8 mm | 62.1 mm |
Measure a ring you own
- Choose a ring that fits the finger you are buying for.
- Lay it flat on a ruler and measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in millimetres. Do not include the metal.
- Find the closest diameter in the chart.
Measure your finger
- Cut a strip of paper about 1 cm wide, or use a piece of thread.
- Wrap it around the base of the finger. It should be snug but still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where the end overlaps, lay the strip flat and measure to the mark.
- That length is the circumference. Find it in the chart.
Prefer not to measure? Print our ring sizer: a paper strip that reads your size directly, and true-size circles to lay a ring on.
Good to know
- Measure at the end of the day, when your hands are warm. Cold fingers measure small.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger.
- Wide bands fit tighter than slim ones. Consider going up half a size.
- Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger than the other.
Bracelet sizes
Wrap a tape measure or a strip of paper around your wrist just above the wrist bone, snug but not tight. Add 1.5 to 2 cm for a comfortable fit, a little less for a close fit and a little more if you like movement.
| Wrist measurement | Bracelet length | Size |
|---|---|---|
| 14 – 15 cm | 16 cm | Small |
| 15 – 16.5 cm | 17.5 cm | Medium |
| 16.5 – 18 cm | 19 cm | Large |
Many of our chain bracelets have an extender, so one length fits a range of wrists. The product page lists the exact length of each piece.
Necklace lengths
Length changes where a necklace sits and what it suits. To check at home, cut a piece of string to the length you are considering and try it against a mirror.
| Length | Name | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| 35 – 38 cm (14 – 15 in) | Choker | Sits at the base of the neck |
| 40 – 42 cm (16 in) | Collarbone | Rests on the collarbone; the most versatile length |
| 45 cm (18 in) | Princess | Falls just below the collarbone; best for pendants |
| 50 – 55 cm (20 – 22 in) | Matinee | Sits on the upper chest; good for layering |
| 60 cm and longer (24 in +) | Long | Falls at or below the bust |
